I have been an iOS developer for years and the first few minutes I opened the book I learned some things I have never known before. This book is easy to read and very informative. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to learn iOS for the first time. I love when a book is in color as well

I was really hoping that this book would provide coverage of storyboards and a single concise chapter covering ARC - after all - these are two of the biggest changes in iOS5. Disappointed on both counts. Preposterous. Instead I find almost the same content as the previous (and excellent) iOS4 version.
If you have the iOS4 version of this book, don't bother with the new version.
If you are just starting out, consider looking at the Big Nerd Ranch books or Ray Wenderlich's online tutorials. ARC and storyboards are the future and this book does itself a disservice by ignoring both of them.
